About You:

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Palliative Care Consultant within the Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Division.

As a Palliative Care Consultant you will contribute to the provision of high standard clinical services to patients of and referred to the palliative care service.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the care of patients allocated to you in collaboration with other staff including fellow Consultants, Nurses, Junior Medical Officers, and Allied Health professionals of the NALHN Palliative Care Service.

Key components of this role include:

  • providing supportive and educative Palliative Care services including medical services to inpatients and outpatients of NALHN including patients in community outreach programs within the NALHN catchment area.
  • contributing to and supervising staff development and training policy planning and research.
  • contributing to and supervising the teaching of medical undergraduates and graduates which contributes to the achievement of the goals and objectives on NALHN. Services will be provided across the NALHN and may include some visits to rural South Australia.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
