About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the  Gastroenterology Department as a Nurse Consultant - Gastroenterology, where you will be responsible for:

• Integrating contemporary evidence and personal experience to support decision-making, innovative thinking, and objective analysis, ensuring expert clinical knowledge improves practice.
• Using information systems for informed decision-making, quality improvement, incident monitoring, and outcome evaluation, ensuring service quality and safety.
• Maintaining a professional portfolio demonstrating qualifications, learning, and practice experience.
• Contributing expertise to monitor and evaluate research for practice and service improvement.
• Providing leadership, acting as a role model, mentor, consultant, and resource person.
• The case management, care and support for general gastroenterology paediatric consumers  and families, as well as those with chronic liver disease, including post transplantation and children with intestinal failure requiring home parental nutrition.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse and Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and holds or is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
• Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
• Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving conflict resolution and negotiation
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet timelines
• Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience in management and leadership roles.
