Overview

Join the Riverland Aboriginal Health Team as an Aboriginal Health Worker, where you'll play a vital role in delivering comprehensive primary health care services to Aboriginal Health consumers and carers. Our team is dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing through clinics, case management, counselling, community education, and more.  Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of services including one-on-one consultations, family support, group sessions, and community education
  • Collaborate effectively with community members, health service staff, and other agencies
  • Advocate for Aboriginal health needs and facilitate access to relevant resources
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required
  • Contribute actively to team projects and initiatives

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • A Certificate III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice)
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to and understanding of the local Aboriginal community
  • Previous experience in Aboriginal Health care settings or community services
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage workload efficiently
  • Uphold confidentiality and sensitivity in handling client information
  • Experience in health promotion, community development, or mental health support
  • Familiarity with local health services and resources for Aboriginal communities
