Are you an experienced Specialist Anaesthetist who:

  • has experience and sound knowledge of contemporary anaesthetic practice and procedures?
  • is a problem solver with decision making skills at both the clinical and the individual level?
  • has a strong commitment to quality management and improvement?
  • With Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent, you will hold appropriate Specialist Qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration and recognised mutually comparable specialist pathway; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

About the role:

  • responsible for pre and peri-operative anaesthetic care of patients, including high risk anaesthetic clinic
  • provides anaesthetic support to ED, High Dependency Unit, Obstetric epidurals as duty Anaesthetist
  • provides care across the LCLHN as required but rostered primarily to the theatre services at MGDHS & MDHHS
  • Participates in teaching and training activities of junior doctors and is an effective role model for all staff and participate in teaching and training activities of junior doctors
  • Engaged in continuing education activities in addition to Continuous Quality Improvement activities, including audit and morbidity and mortality review
