We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit Team!

The Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit is responsible for providing sensitive care to members of our community.

The Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit is a multidisciplinary unit combining the Flinders Medical Centre breast cancer surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and cytologists, and the Flinders Medical Centre breast care nurses, in the same clinic, into a comprehensive breast diagnostic and management service.

Flinders Medical Centre Endocrine Service provides a comprehensive management of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Advanced Nurse Consultant, Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit, this role is responsible for assisting in chaperoning, outpatient clinic flow, clinical and coordination of care, as well as assisting the breast unit’s radiology department with procedures. As the registered nurse your duties may include:

  •  Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care and individual case management to patients with breast cancers/ endocrine conditions.
  • Support nursing practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates.
  • Provide health promotion and education, to patients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual.

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
  • Demonstrated competence in outpatient/surgical/medical  nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
  • Ability to work within a team framework that fosters an environment that develops staff potential.
