Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LHN) is now accepting applications for a Registered Midwife Candidate Pool, to be considered for vacant Midwifery positions (RN/RM1) that become available over the next 12 months. This includes any ongoing or temporary, part time/full time or casual vacancies which may arise within the wider Nursing/Midwifery department. Positions may be based at our sites in Mount Gambier Hospital or at our sites in Bordertown, Kingston SE, Millicent, or Naracoorte.

We are continually seeking talented individuals to join Limestone Coast Local Health Network Nursing and Midwifery team. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and qualified candidates will be contacted for interviews as opportunities arise.

You will assist with the provision of professional high-quality nursing and midwifery care within the Maternity Unit at Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service or across Limestone Coast Local Health Network, caring for women and babies, prenatal and postnatal care.  As a Midwife, you will participate in assessing women’s needs and planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate care and service delivery. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. Consolidating your knowledge and skills, you will develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the Maternity Unit.

About You

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will demonstrate a commitment to providing patient and family-centred care. Your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will equip you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads.
