Port Lincoln Health Services is seeking a dedicated Laundry Hand to become an integral part of our Services Team. If you’re committed to delivering timely, efficient, and effective service, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

As a Laundry Hand, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including:

  • Undertaking minor sewing repairs.
  • Preparing, washing, cleaning, sorting, drying, folding, labeling, ironing, packing, delivering, and storing laundry, uniforms, and linen.
  • Performing general housekeeping and cleaning duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all laundry tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with Infection Control Standards.
  • Follow safe working conditions and Food Safety Standards.
  • Utilise basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Uphold the Occupational Health, Safety, and Welfare Act and Risk Management Principles.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of safe working conditions, Food Safety Standards, customer service principles, and Infection Control Standards.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer packages.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health, Safety, and Welfare Act and Risk Management Principles.
  • Limited experience in housekeeping, cooking/catering, and laundry is acceptable.

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility in work and rostering systems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Effective written, verbal, and numeracy skills.
