Charla Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility is seeking motivated Personal Care Workers to join our Casual Pool. Role Overview: As a Personal Care Worker, you will assist in delivering high-quality care and support to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Resident Care: Assisting with bathing, personal hygiene, toileting, and grooming. Providing support with nutrition and hydration, including feeding if required.
  • Mobility Support: Helping with transfers, using wheelchairs, lifters, and other mobility aids as needed.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensuring a clean and orderly environment, including bed making, laundry distribution, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Documenting Care: Recording observations and completing documentation in line with accreditation standards and funding model requirements.
  • Meal Assistance: Preparing dining areas, serving meals, and managing dishes and utensils.
  • Special Needs: Providing care for clients with special requirements and engaging them in leisure and lifestyle activities.
  • Medication Support: Assisting with the self-administration of medication under medical authority.
  • Team Collaboration: Building positive relationships with patients, staff, medical professionals, and volunteers. Contributing to quality improvement and risk management processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Completion of Certificate III in Aged Care.
  • Experience: Proven experience in providing direct care in a health-related field, particularly with aged, frail, or disabled individuals.
  • Team Skills: Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment and support colleagues.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and resolve conflicts.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply problem-solving skills, and manage change effectively.
  • Empathy: A deep understanding of elderly clients' needs, with discretion, confidentiality, and a commitment to developing skills in Aged Care.
  • Physical Capability: Physically able to handle the responsibilities of the role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and a basic understanding of contemporary care practices and legislation.
