Service:

Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Whyalla)

Whyalla Hospital is one of three SA regional hospitals that has an Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit (IMHIU). The IMHIU features six single bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a comfortably furnished dining and lounge area, making the environment as welcoming and home-like as possible. About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) with our Local Health Network (LHN) Mental Health (MH) service, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a dynamic range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented care tailored to the unique needs of our consumers and the community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deepen your expertise and advance your career through continuous professional development and hands-on experience.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of providing integrated mental health care across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings. Your work will involve utilizing and refining a diverse set of approaches, from preventative and early intervention strategies to therapeutic and evaluative methods. You'll engage in individual and family therapy, lead group programs, and spearhead health promotion and community development initiatives.

About you:

• Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Must be enrolled and/or willing to enrol in further postgraduate studies within Mental Health practice
• Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
• Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
