Exciting Opportunity to Join Our Team as the Roster Clerk at Naracoorte Hospital

Are you an organised and detail-oriented professional with a knack for managing schedules? Naracoorte Hospital is seeking a dedicated Roster Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth operation of our health services by managing staff rosters and ensuring appropriate staffing levels across the hospital.

Role Overview:

As the Roster Clerk, you will:

  • Maintain the day-to-day rostering and scheduling of all staff across Naracoorte Hospital.
  • Manage the backfill of Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) deficits that arise from the monthly rosters under the guidance of Managers.
  • Arrange coverage for unplanned leave such as sick leave and bereavement leave, working under the direction of Managers or the After-Hours Team Leader.
  • Ensure continuity of health services by deploying appropriately qualified staff to areas of need.
  • Update and manage the ProAct computer database with any roster adjustments.
  • Provide administrative support to your colleagues by answering phones and assisting with other office tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and circumstances, maintaining a customer service focus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clerical aptitude, including numeracy, literacy, filing skills, and keyboard proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of promoting a positive work culture and ability to adapt to change and flexibility.
  • Previous clerical or receptionist experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and use of office equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital environment is preferred.
