Driving Excellence in Mental Health: Safety Quality & Clinical Risk Coordinator Role at SA Health

Take the lead in championing clinical excellence and patient safety within SA Health's mental health services. In this vital role, you will spearhead quality improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning and risk mitigation. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centred mental health care to the South Australian community.

About the role: 

Working as the Safety Quality & Clinical Risk Coordinator (Mental Health), some of your duties may involve:

  • Using clinical knowledge and experience to provide support services to the SALHN in the implementation, maintenance and ongoing development and improvement of the patient safety, quality systems and clinical risk management systems aimed at improving patient outcomes and experience.
  • Accepting accountability for the outcomes of management practices, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy; and for contributing to a safe and positive work culture. 
  • Assisting staff to manage the change process in relation to any of the above activities.

Please note: This position is multi-classed as either RN3 or AHP3 and classification will be determined by qualifications and/or experience. 

About you:

  • (AHP3) - Appropriate degree or qualification which entitles full registration or membership of the relevant governing board or association for Allied Health Practitioners. 
  • (RN3) - Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. 
  • Registered Allied Health qualification or Nurse with at least 3 years, post-registration experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience in management and leadership roles. 
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Experience in conducting incident reviews.
