Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Regional Clinical Coder, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality case-mix coding for inpatient and same-day episodes of care across twelve vibrant health services in the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network.

Your expertise will help maintain compliance with the Admitted Patient Care (APC) data domain, formerly known as the Integrated South Australian Activity Collection (ISAAC) Casemix Reporting Schedule.  You will have the opportunity to work within a supportive environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals at diverse facilities including:

  • Renmark Paringa District Hospital
  • Waikerie Health Services
  • Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital
  • Mannum District Hospital
  • Meningie & Districts Memorial Hospital

  • Karoonda & District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital

  • Pinnaroo Soldiers Memorial Hospital

Your contributions will impact the quality of patient care and operational efficiency in our network, making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely case-mix coding for inpatient and same-day episodes.
  • Ensure compliance with APC data standards and reporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation and coding queries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and practices.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, it is essential that applicants have satisfactorily completed a Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) coding course, together with demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM coding.
