Are you an experienced leader ready to take on a rewarding role in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network? 

As the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) you will be involved in line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and multidisciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient/client care and outcomes. The NUM is responsible for Transitional Care Unit services including the nursing governance of extended capacity spaces, transitional care wards and the SALHN transporter service.

About the role:  

As the Nurse Unit Manager, duties for the role will include:  

  • Ensure the delivery of high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework and Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan
  • Provide leadership and direction, acts as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person
  • Budget preparation, monitoring and reporting and adherence to resources allocations
  • Identifying hazards, assessing risks and implementing, monitoring and maintaining hazard control measures

About you: 

  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
