About the Role  

As the ICU Research Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the Intensive Care Research Unit, leveraging your clinical expertise to drive excellence in research activities. Your leadership will be pivotal in managing the research team, ensuring the development and execution of innovative protocols, and facilitating the timely completion of projects. You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality nursing care aligned with the Department of Health's quality framework, while also overseeing the reporting of results and contributions to publications and presentations.

In this dynamic position, you will accept accountability for nursing and midwifery practices within the research unit, addressing any discrepancies between practice and policy. Your commitment to fostering a positive work culture and enhancing team performance will directly influence patient outcomes and the overall success of the ICU. About You 

We’re looking for an exceptional ICU Research Nurse Unit Manager who can blend clinical expertise with leadership to drive research excellence. You will need to demonstrate a passion for nursing, research, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse with a post-graduate qualification in critical care nursing; currently pursuing or holding a Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and facilitate change management while ensuring effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience in intensive care nursing, with a solid background in clinical research and team management.
  • Knowledge & Understanding: In-depth knowledge of nursing regulations, quality improvement systems, and the ethical considerations of clinical research.
