Join Our Team as a Clinical Nurse in Palliative Care!

Are you a compassionate and dedicated nurse with a passion for providing exceptional end-of-life care? We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse in Palliative Care to enhance the support and services we offer to patients, families, and communities facing the challenges of life-limiting illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver proficient, person-centered clinical nursing care and individual case management to palliative care clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care plans to ensure optimal care outcomes are achieved daily.
  • Oversee nursing care within the palliative care team, providing guidance and support to less experienced staff.
  • Assess clients and implement therapeutic interventions within a multi-disciplinary primary health care setting.
  • Collaborate with the Palliative Care Advanced Nurse Consultant on management, clinical, and education activities.
  • Coordinate services with other disciplines and contribute to resolving nursing care delivery issues.
  • Participate in clinical teaching, mentoring students, and less experienced staff while fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
  • Engage in clinical auditing, trials, and evaluative research, integrating theoretical knowledge and evidence to achieve care outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with demonstrated competence in relevant nursing practice standards.
  • Skills: Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organisational Abilities: Strong ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines while working with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership: Experience in guiding and directing student nurses and less experienced registered nurses, with a creative and flexible approach to clinical challenges.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with computer packages, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Applicant Information

This role will be located at Port Lincoln Community Health but will require travel within the EFNLHN region and may also require overnight travel.
