Are you skilled in facility maintenance and passionate about contributing to a healthy environment? Ceduna and District Health Services is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Officer to ensure the upkeep of our health unit’s facilities.

About the Role:

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for general facility maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical work, and grounds maintenance. Your contributions will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including rubbish collection and facility repairs.
  • Design, modify, and construct equipment and major items as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain soil mixes and oversee grounds maintenance, including the cultivation of specific plant collections.
  • Set up, program, and operate machinery and computerized systems related to maintenance operations.
  • Assist in providing on-the-job training and guidance to other staff members.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and uphold customer service principles.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in building and grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and relate to staff at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages eg Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • A commitment to safety standards and risk management principles.
