Overview

You will apply your clinical experience, knowledge and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive and integrated range of speech pathology services appropriate to the needs of the Barossa/Gawler and Mt Barker community. This will involve providing adult speech pathology services to clients according to service prioritisation and eligibility criteria. You will manage a complex caseload and support other team members in managing the demands of the service. As a member of a multidisciplinary team including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, you will utilise a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment, therapy and evaluation approaches. You will participate in team, discipline and network meetings and contribute to the review, development and adaptation of clinical and administrative resources to support the speech pathology service. Working under reduced clinical direction, you may contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants and students.

You must hold a recognised qualification within the speech pathology profession and be eligible for practicing membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia. With experience in speech pathology service provision, you will be capable of supporting clients, carers and families across the Patient Journey. This will be evident in your ability to undertake effective assessment and triage, provide timely referrals, accurate information, coordinated care and prompt follow-up. Your strong communication and negotiation skills will equip you to interact effectively with a diverse range of people including clients, the community, team members, management and other stakeholders.
