About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Menu Coordinator to join the dedicated team within the Food Services Department. The Food Services Department is responsible for providing high quality meals to patients and staff in the facility.

In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to shape the dining experience for patients and staff. Your expertise and creativity will be instrumental in developing nutritious, appetising menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences. From planning meal cycles to ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional culinary services.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • collating menus, making up bulk orders and formulating all special dietary fluids (including infant formulas)
  • ensuring production lists are accurate to minimise food wastage
  • ensuring appropriate records and other relevant documentation regarding patient meal statistics are maintained in accordance with internal audit procedures and recommendations
  • complying with the Food Services Food Safety Plan
  • setting up programming and operating machinery, equipment, facilities, recording and computerised systems
  • determining and appraising methods of work organisation which includes implementing detailed directions and procedures
  • providing assistance and guidance within level of expertise to other employees
  • collating the individual meal preferences of all inpatients in accordance with their nutritional and special dietary requirements. This is achieved through liaison with patients, families, nursing staff, Dietetics and Speech Pathology
