  • Hourly Rate: $86.29 - 111.14 p/hr plus 25% casual loading MDP4 | Multiple Casual Vacancies with the potential for ongoing or term appointment.

Join our Emergency Medicine Team and make a difference in Southern Adelaide Health Local Network!  

The Emergency Department (ED) provides emergency services to the southern area, treating approximately 43,000 people a year.

About the role: 

This role is responsible for providing direct clinical care to patients presenting to the Noarlunga Hospital Emergency Department (ED) and and to support overall department function. Duties for the role will include:

  • Attending and participating in clinical and departmental educational meetings,
  • Ensuring consumers are able to exercise their rights and responsibilities,
  • Acting as a role model and mentor for medical students, registrars, resident medical officers and interns,
  • Contributing to the supervision of postgraduate students,
  • Ensuring the maintenance of comprehensive clinical records which document significant patient management decisions.

About you:

  • Must have one of the following:
  • Post graduate qualification in Emergency Medicine – registrable as a specialist in South Australia
  • OR
  • ​Completed all examination requirements for Fellowship Australasian College for Emergency Medicine but not yet completed requirements for Fellowship, 
  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia, 
  • A primary medical degree from overseas with a college endorsed training program and limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues, other professional staff and patients.
  • Broad clinical experience and demonstrable competence in the practice of emergency medicine as occurs in Australasian Emergency Departments.

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years.
