Come join the team in Media and Communications Branch as a Communications Officer! 

The Media and Communications team provides our community with information about the latest in medical research, hospital services and activities, and important health information for the public.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, some of your duties as the Communications Officer may involve:

  • Contribute to the implementation of strategies and opportunities to raise awareness amongst internal and external audiences,
  • Develop and maintain communication tools that appeal to a range of stakeholders,
  • Contribute to positive staff morale through open communication,
  • Develop effective working relationships with staff so they will actively seek support and advice from the Media and Communications Branch and positively represent and advocate for SALHN.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field, or in process of earning qualification,
  • Proven high level writing skills and ability to produce user-friendly communication that is clear, concise and accurate, and that ensures unambiguous delivery of the message,
  • Ability to evaluate information quickly, critically, and accurately, grasp the core of complex or ambiguous problems and analyse and summarise key issues,
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse and challenging groups,
  • Experience in researching, analysing, and coordinating information and data and preparing concise, relevant, and timely briefings, written advice and reports.
