  • Permanent Part-time position working 27.75 hours per week, over a 7 day roster

Overview

You will provide high level clinical nursing expertise to patients within the Emergency Department of the Gawler Health Service. Practicing at an advanced level of nursing, you will have an expanded scope of practice and an advanced degree of autonomy and clinical decision making. Working both independently and collaboratively in the Emergency Department, you will undertake comprehensive assessment of patients’ health status including their medical history and physical examination. You will undertake clinical management of patients and initiate and interpret diagnostic pathology and radiology where required. You will also initiate interventional therapies, medications and use of health appliances or equipment as required, with the scope to admit and discharge patients from services. You will accept accountability for your nursing practice, professional advice given, delegations of care made, and work to address inconsistencies between practice and policy. The Nurse Practitioner scope of practice is approved by the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network Nursing and Midwifery Credentialing Committee.

You will be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate or eligibility to obtain one. Endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You will bring the ability to work both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
