About the Role

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant/Seamstress, you will play a vital role in supporting the treatment of patients within the Occupational Therapy Department. Working closely with an experienced Occupational Therapist, you will assist in delivering care to both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring optimal health outcomes. Your sewing expertise, including overlocking and pattern making, will be integral to providing tailored solutions that enhance patient recovery.

In addition to supporting patient care, you will also help manage the department's stores and equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will oversee the stock control system, ensuring supplies are well-maintained and readily available for efficient service delivery. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the daily operations of the department while using your skills to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.

About You

We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled individual who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about supporting patients. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people.
  • Proficiency in using a sewing machine and overlocker for therapeutic garment creation and clothing modifications.
  • A solid understanding of Occupational Therapy, with experience working with individuals with disabilities or medical conditions.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and data, alongside organisational skills to manage tasks independently.
