In the role of the Strategic Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and management the team, and delivering high-quality, expert procurement services with a specific focus on savings and sustainability to all of SALHN’s business units. 

About the role: 

In this role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading and managing a team, ensuring that they are directed, co-ordinated and motivated to perform their duties to a high standard with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Managing a complex programme of procurement and contracting activities that are patient-focussed and achieve sustainable, best value outcomes for SALHN. 
  • Ensuring that risks and compliance obligations are efficiently and effectively managed across the network.
  • Achieving optimal use of resources and ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service to clinical and non-clinical staff across the organisation. 

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • A degree or equivalent level qualification in Procurement, Supply chain Management, Commerce, Law, Business, etc
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing high value/risk procurement activities within a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience in researching, analysing and resolving complex problems and providing clear, concise and comprehensive reports and advice.
  • Strong and positive leadership and management skills with the ability to direct, co-ordinate and motivate others to perform their duties to a high standard with a high degree of professionalism
