SA Health is seeking passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapists to join our team in multiple part-time, ongoing & temporary positions within the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN). Based at the Gawler Hospital, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of comprehensive and integrated health services tailored to the needs of the local community.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work under the direct supervision of a responsible senior professional, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and service providers from various sectors. Your role will involve utilising a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy, and evaluation approaches in occupational therapy.

Your responsibilities will encompass providing a broad range of clinical and consultative occupational therapy services across various service settings and episode types, including My Aged Care, community outpatients, and supporting the inpatient setting as required. You will conduct home safety assessments, deliver short-term outpatient interventions, prescribe equipment, and recommend home modifications. Applying primary health care and community participation principles, you will ensure that occupational therapy services are responsive to changing community needs and contribute to improving health outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification that entitles you to registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and fulfill all requirements to achieve and maintain current registration. You will possess the capability to support consumers across the patient journey, providing effective assessment and triage, timely referrals, accurate information, coordinated care, and prompt follow-up. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to interact effectively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds, and you must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

More than one part time vacancy available: one vacancy is permanent working 45 hours per fortnight; and one temporary vacancy working 22.5 hours per fortnight, up to 25/7/2025. This is a part time vacancy and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
