Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service

The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

As an Occupational Therapist, you'll leverage your clinical expertise and growing knowledge to plan, implement, and evaluate a wide range of services tailored to the needs of our community. Working with greater autonomy, you'll have the opportunity to mentor and guide less experienced colleagues, including allied health professionals, assistants, and students. Collaborating with a dynamic, multi-professional team, you'll utilize a variety of approaches—ranging from preventative and early intervention strategies to treatment and ongoing evaluation—to make a real impact on patient outcomes and community well-being.

About You:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within Occupational Therapy profession and be eligible for practicing membership of the relevant Professional Association.
  • Apply professional expertise, developing generalist/specialist knowledge, clinical competence and experience to provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the selection and adaptation of established methods, procedures and techniques within the profession.
  • May provide a broad range of clinical and consultative services across a range of service settings, including one-on-one, group based and health promotion activities.
  • Manage and prioritise personal workload and support others in developing workload management plans, including in the allocation of team resources.
