About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services team as a Nursing Director where you will be responsible for:

  • Leading strategic and operational direction for the Paediatric Outpatient Department, ensuring efficient, person- and family-centered care.
  • Evaluating service models and implementing improvements through clinical and consumer engagement.
  • Collaborating with divisional and medical leaders to manage outpatient services, including referral triaging.
  • Managing nursing and administration staff and providing leadership to Nurse Consultants and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Developing care models to enable nursing staff to work to their full scope of practice, including nurse-led clinics.
  • Ensuring governance, practice standards, and continuous improvement in nursing and inter-professional practices.
  • Promoting a healthy work environment and fostering a culture of learning and quality care.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 5 years post registration experience.
  • Experience as a leader or manager in the health care industry.
  • Experience in managing and leading complex projects.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and review services, develop, and implement new models of care.
  • Experience in managing large numbers of staff from various multidisciplinary backgrounds.
