About the role

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and contributing to quality healthcare outcomes? As a Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the Pre-Analytical Services team. This position is classified as OPS2 but may be filled at OPS1 level depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Your work will involve engaging with patients, managing specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry to support timely diagnosis and treatment.

In this varied and dynamic role, you will be responsible for phlebotomy, specimen collection, and specimen management, including their storage and transport under defined conditions. You will also handle preliminary preparation of samples, accurately enter patient and test information into laboratory systems, and manage customer enquiries effectively.
