Join our dedicated team at Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Acute Ward. This is a great opportunity for an experienced nurse to take the next step in their career, providing essential leadership and support to a skilled nursing team while ensuring high-quality patient care in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will collaborate with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager to lead the Acute Ward, contributing to ward management, practice development, and the mentoring of less experienced staff. Your role will have a strong focus on promoting continuity of care, improving patient outcomes, and maintaining a positive, collaborative environment for both staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in leadership and day-to-day management of the ward.
  • Promote continuity and consistency of patient care in collaboration with other senior staff.
  • Assist with performance management, recruitment, staffing, rostering, and leave management.
  • Contribute to the implementation of practice changes and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced nurses and nursing students, fostering their development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and promoting professional development.
  • Knowledge of contemporary healthcare issues, quality improvement systems, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under minimal supervision.
