About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS Eating Disorders Service as a Senior Clinical Nurse where you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the day-to-day coordination of the multidisciplinary Eating Disorders Team to ensure continuity, efficiency, and high-quality mental health care.
  • Deliver advanced clinical expertise to children, adolescents, and their families experiencing eating disorders and related mental health concerns, in alignment with the Statewide Paediatric Eating Disorders Services (SPEDS) Model of Care (2020).
  • Provide direct expert care to individuals or groups while offering clinical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary staff.
  • Apply contemporary mental health research, evidence, and lived clinical experience to support decision-making, foster innovation, and promote objective analysis.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes, and lead initiatives within your area of expertise.
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of patient/client mental health care within designated wards, units, or programs to ensure continuity of care, positive outcomes, and efficient patient flow.
  • Provide outreach services across CAMHS Community metropolitan locations, including consultation via telehealth when required.

About You

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people and their families experiencing complex, acute or chronic mental illness/ trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioural disturbance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards.
