About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Social Worker or Clinical Nurse to join our team as a Forensic Court Liaison Officer within the Forensic Mental Health Service. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals navigating the complex intersections of mental health and the legal system.

As a Forensic Court Liaison Officer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication and coordination between the mental health service and the criminal justice system. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, providing expert advice to the courts and advocating for individuals' rights and well-being throughout the legal process.

To excel in this role, you must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including legal professionals, healthcare providers and individuals with mental health concerns. Additionally, you should have a deep understanding of mental health legislation, forensic mental health principles and the criminal justice system.

To be eligible for this position as a Social Worker, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

To be eligible for this position as a Clinical Nurse, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
