About the role

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional pharmacy services within a dynamic healthcare environment? As the Senior Pharmacist, you will take charge of the organisation, management, and operation of a designated pharmacy area. Your expertise will be integral to providing high-level pharmacy services, offering critical medicines information, and delivering therapeutic advice to patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals. Guided by hospital and divisional policies, you'll exercise independent judgment and uphold the highest professional standards, ensuring that every patient receives outstanding care.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of optimising patient outcomes by developing and implementing strategies for the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of pharmaceuticals. Your ability to navigate complex clinical scenarios and champion the quality use of medicines will directly impact patient care and wellbeing. About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Pharmacist. To excel in this role, you will bring a strong mix of qualifications, leadership skills, and extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice.

  • Qualifications & Registration: Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent, and be registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia. Postgraduate qualifications, professional body membership, or relevant competency accreditation (e.g., CGP) will be highly regarded.
  • Skills & Abilities: Showcase excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead, supervise, and educate within a multidisciplinary team. You thrive working independently or under broad guidelines and excel in meeting tight deadlines with accuracy.
  • Experience: Bring extensive hospital pharmacy practice experience, including demonstrated leadership and supervisory responsibilities. Completion of SHPA resident training and experience across various hospital settings is desirable.
  • Knowledge: Possess in-depth professional and technical competency in pharmacy practice, underpinned by comprehensive knowledge of relevant codes of practice and standards.
