About the role

The Cardiac Physiologist independently performs standard diagnostic tests in the disciplines of Echocardiography, Electrophysiology, cardiac catherisation/intervention, ambulatory monitoring, and pacemaker assessment including performing more complex tasks relating to implantable defibrillators, stress echocardiography, 3D electrophysiology, training staff, performing implantable cardiac device interrogations at remote clinics and assist with emergency on-call procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or health related field: and either
    • Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Sonography (or Equivalent); and
    • Registration as an Accredited Sonographer as administered by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) or its equivalent.                     OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or health related field: and
    • Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Electrophysiology (or its recognised equivalent): or
    • Equivalent skills acquired from extensive training and/or experience, as approved by the relevant delegate.
