About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker looking for a rewarding career opportunity to join our Forensic Mental Health inpatient service.

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is a leading provider of public healthcare services in South Australia.

The Forensic inpatient unit provides a range of recovery orientated and treatment services, therapy and educative programs to consumers, family and carers during the period of admission. The inpatient unit works closely with community mental health services, other community systems of support and care and across the justice system.

The inpatient unit offers clinical case assessment and management, rehabilitation and crisis intervention services to consumers who are either sentenced or awaiting sentencing or those found Not Guilty By Reason of Mental Impairment under s269 of the Criminal Law Consolidation (Mental Impairment) Amendment Act 1995.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive psychosocial assessments, counselling and case management services to clients with complex mental health needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating their successful reintegration into the community, ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary for their recovery journey.

In this challenging yet fulfilling role, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists and nurses. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds will be invaluable assets in fostering trust and delivering person-centred care.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
