Client-Centred Receptionist Role: Supporting the Aboriginal Family Clinic

The Clinic Administration Officer/Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing administrative and reception support for the Aboriginal Family Clinic, ensuring a culturally safe and client-centred experience. This position is responsible for coordinating patient and transport bookings, handling inquiries from clients, agencies, and the public, and managing the reception area efficiently. Additionally, the incumbent will provide general administrative support to the Aboriginal Family Clinic team.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager Aboriginal Clinical Services, some of  your duties as the Administration Receptionist may involve: 

  • Ensuring public enquiries, both presenting and by phone, are handled efficiently and effectively in a timely manner. 
  • Ensuring a welcoming environment and welcome clients on arrival in a friendly and courteous manner. 
  • Ensuring correspondence to and from the clinical is processed accordingly.
  • Providing administrative support to the Regional Manager as necessary. 

About you:

  • Demonstrated effective communication, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Previous experience working in a reception/administration role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal individual clients, families and communities. 
  • Experience in basic computing skills, including email and word processing.
