We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Trials Scientist to join our Neurology Team!

The Neurology Department provides a service for inpatients and outpatients with disorders of brain, nerves and muscle.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Neurology, as the Clinical Trials Co-ordinator Neurology assist with the delivery of direct and indirect care and associated data collection and processing for concurrent research studies undertaken in the department. Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide individual case management to patients/clients on a shift by shift basis relevant to the Neurology trial protocol  with increasing autonomy over time,
  • Collection/preparation and transportation of trial related biological samples as per hospital policy and International Air Transport,
  • Contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours,
  • Acting as a resource to unit staff in relation to all aspects of clinical trial coordination and management,
  • Participate in evaluative research activities within the practice setting,

About you:

  • For appointment at MeS1 Level - Bachelor of Health Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification
  • Prior clinical trial experience desirable,
  • Able to process blood samples,
  • Effective skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
  • Demonstrated ability in the facilitation of change management.
