About the Role

Join our dynamic and supportive team as a Plastic Surgery Nurse Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing plastic surgery. You’ll provide a comprehensive range of services, including psychosocial support, advocacy, education, and clinical care, while acting as a key liaison between the hospital and the community. In this rewarding position, you’ll be responsible for guiding patients and groups through their surgical journey, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care with empathy and professionalism.

As a leader in the clinical team, you will help foster an environment that encourages continuous development and improvement. You’ll take charge of quality initiatives, staff education, and action research, all while offering expert guidance to nursing staff and other health professionals. With autonomy in decision-making, you'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of your practice while contributing to better patient outcomes. Whether you're providing direct nursing care, leading clinical projects, or developing your skills as a Nurse Practitioner Candidate, this role offers immense potential for professional growth and advancement.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team. To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of post-registration experience and eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and negotiate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and foster a positive work environment that promotes staff development and consumer engagement.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant healthcare standards, legislation, and contemporary nursing/midwifery issues in the Australian context.
