About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Medical Scientist (MeS1) to join our regional laboratories team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality, multi-disciplined pathology services to regional communities. You will apply your scientific and technical expertise to perform a variety of routine diagnostic techniques while contributing to problem-solving, planning, and analysis to support the delivery of accurate and timely pathology results.

Under supervision, you will also assist in the development and adoption of innovative techniques and methodologies, ensuring our services remain at the forefront of scientific excellence. As part of a collaborative team, you will provide roster support across all Regional Services laboratories, helping to maintain seamless and reliable operations. About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong scientific and technical skills. Your ability to work collaboratively and manage your time effectively will enable you to contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services.

  • Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving Skills: You have experience with analytical laboratory equipment, laboratory computing, and general pathology practices. Your ability to maintain, evaluate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment ensures consistent and reliable results.
  • Organisational & Time Management Skills: You excel at prioritising tasks and managing workloads efficiently, meeting daily targets while maintaining high-quality outcomes. Your punctuality and readiness to commence work as scheduled contribute to a reliable and effective team environment.
  • Communication & Customer Service: With strong written and oral communication skills, you are able to engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders. You understand and deliver excellent customer service while handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge & Adaptability: Your understanding of laboratory principles, quality procedures, and general scientific practices enables you to perform routine diagnostic tests with precision. You are willing to travel and adapt to new environments as needed, contributing to the team’s flexibility and reach.
