Enriching Lives: Community Mental Health Clinician Position in Adelaide

As a Psychosis Clinician, you'll have the opportunity to make a profound impact on individuals experiencing psychosis and their families within the Adelaide Metro Southern community. In this rewarding role, you'll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized care plans, and provide evidence-based interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your expertise and compassion will play a pivotal role in supporting clients on their journey towards recovery and improved mental well-being.
 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Team Manager, some of your duties may involve:

  • Developing, implementing and evaluating specific social work therapeutic interventions eg individual counselling, family interventions, crisis intervention, brief therapy and focused psychological strategies.
  • Disseminating information on rights, benefits and services as required.
  • Participating in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience.

Please note: This position is multi-classed as either RN2C or AHP2 and classification will be determined by qualifications and/or experience. 

About you:

To qualify as an RN2C:

  • Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. 
  • Enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice. 
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience. 
  • Demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice. 

To qualify as an AHP2

  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers OR Apropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Experience working  with people who have a mental illness, their families and/or carers
  • Experience in collaborative development, implementation and monitoring of planned interventions for consumers of mental health services with complex needs.
  • Experience in development and maintenance of therapeutic relationships with consumers having enduring and severe disability and complex needs, and their families and carers.
