 Are you an Occupational Therapist looking to make a difference in Southern Adelaide's local community? 

As the Occupational Therapist you will report to the Manager Home Outreach and Telerehabilitation and the Director Occupational Therapy and will work as a member of the Ambulatory Rehabilitation team ensuring optimal care and outcomes by providing a comprehensive range of occupational therapy services to patients receiving supported early discharge and home rehabilitation within the SALHN metropolitan area.

About the role: 

As the Occupational Therapist, you will be working within a fast paced and dynamic health environment and will work collaboratively with other staff, members of the Rehabilitation team and external stakeholders. Duties for the role will include: 

  • Providing Occupational Therapy services to Home, Outreach and Telerehabilitation patients including using broad range of technologies including iPads, videoconferencing equipment and therapeutic apps
  • Participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to patients
  • Linking patients and carers with relevant community resources and services
  • Providing information to patients and/or relatives about level of functioning and ongoing management
  • Documenting assessment findings and interventions

About you:

  • High levels of responsibility and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, delegate appropriately.  This includes the ability to supervise students, allied health assistants and junior staff.
  • High level interpersonal, negotiating, counselling and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate with patients, other professional staff and community agencies both orally and in writing.
  • A degree or other qualification which entitles registration as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Broad of Australia
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
