Join our Rehabilitation in the Home team as an Allied Health Assistant today! 

Rehabilitation in the Home will operate 7 days per week and will have a strong focus on innovation and digital strategies, with Telehealth and home-based monitoring integrated into the provision of care. The Allied Health Assistant participates within the Home Rehabilitation Team and may assist with tasks including installing prescribed equipment, assistance with self-care tasks and carrying out specified components of rehabilitation programs such as exercise, mobility activities or therapeutic groups.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager Home, Outreach and Telerehabilitation as the Allied Health Assistant duties for the role may involve:

  • Providing specific therapeutic interventions under direction of AHP staff
  • Monitoring patient response to therapies and reporting to the supervising AHP
  • Accurately maintain documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP
  • Accurately maintain therapy related databases
  • Assisting patients and carers to use telehealth equipment

About you:

  • Demonstrated aptitude for work in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and / or handling of patient related equipment and devices
  • Must possess or be undertaking a Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
