Are you a Senior Occupational Therapist looking to make a difference in Southern Adelaide's local community? 

The Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible to the Manager, Occupational Therapy to provide clinical services, leadership and coordination of the Occupational Therapy general inpatient services at SALHN acute sites. This role will provide Occupational Therapy services to patients which includes assessment, treatment and discharge planning and a clinical consultancy service to other Occupational Therapists working in inpatient areas. 

About the role: 

As the Senior Occupational Therapist - Inpatients, Duties for the role will include:

  • Contributing to the assessment and treatment of patients, making a discipline-specific contribution to the clinical team’s understanding of the patient and situation
  • The provision of high level assessment, care planning, treatment and review as a specialist allied health practitioner in acute inpatients. This includes assessment treatment and reporting on client’s physical, sensory, perceptual and cognitive function in relation to personal activities of daily living (PADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) and suitable discharge destination
  • Working with the Manager Occupational Therapy and senior clinicians to identify issues affecting the delivery of an effective and efficient occupational therapy service in acute inpatients and proactively address these issues to minimise their impact on the delivery of high quality clinical care

About you:

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to prioritise competing work demands
  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Extensive post-graduate clinical experience at a senior level in the acute health sector.
  • Experience in the supervision of OT staff and students
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
