About the role

Join a dynamic and dedicated team as an Operational Services Officer, where your skills and efficiency will contribute to the seamless operation of the Food and Environmental Laboratory. In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative support, including accurate data entry, reception and clerical responsibilities, and assisting with the sorting and preparation of laboratory samples. You’ll also play a key role in arranging the packing and transport of laboratory consumables for clients, ensuring services are delivered effectively and professionally.

As the first point of contact for both internal and external enquiries, you’ll manage customer interactions with professionalism and care, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders. If you’re organised, detail-oriented, and eager to support the vital work of the laboratory, this is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a meaningful impact.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with strong organisational and communication skills to join our team. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating initiative, accuracy, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Key requirements include:

  • Skills and Attributes: Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritise tasks, and produce high-quality, accurate work under pressure. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service are essential.
  • Administrative Experience: Previous experience in administrative roles, including data entry, managing information systems, and handling customer enquiries.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with quality accreditation requirements.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients and colleagues, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
