Elevate Your Career: Allied Health Assistant Role with SA Health

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will provide in-home care to older individuals with complex needs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team for assessments, rehabilitation, and care planning. Your role focuses on optimizing patient management, establishing community support networks, and facilitating suitable accommodation through assessments and treatment plans.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager - Virtual Rehabilitation and the AHP3 Physiotherapist, some of your duties as the Allied Health Assistant may involve:

  • Assisting patient preparation for therapy and at the conclusion of therapy
  • Assisting patient in personal care needs to maintain privacy, cleanliness and dignity before, during and after therapy interventions.
  • Accurately maintain documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising Allied Health Professional.

About you:

  • Must possess or be undertaking a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work in a healthcare environment. 
  • Ability to work under close supervision and direction from Allied Health Professionals. 
  • Ability to attend to routine work on a daily basis.
  • Ability to use documented resources such as policies and procedures and work instructions to enable safe work practices. 
  • Previous experience in an Allied Health Assistant role an advantage.
