About the role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for communications and engagement? As the Manager, Communications and Engagement for SA Medical Imaging (SAMI), you will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of communication strategies that align with organisational goals. You will drive impactful projects, oversee written and electronic information resources, and ensure communication initiatives effectively meet the needs of the organisation and its stakeholders.

In this dynamic role, you will also manage SAMI’s internet and intranet websites, as well as social media platforms, ensuring content integrity and alignment with branding strategies. This is a unique opportunity to shape the communication landscape of a leading healthcare organisation while contributing to its mission of delivering high-quality medical imaging services.

About You

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic communications professional to join our team as the Manager, Communications and Engagement. You will bring strategic insight, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a track record of success in delivering innovative communication solutions. Key requirements include:

  • Strategic and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to provide innovative and effective solutions to complex communication challenges, with a strong focus on attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience and Leadership: Extensive experience in a senior communications role, including developing and implementing corporate communication strategies, producing high-quality materials, and successfully leading and mentoring a small team.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including oral presentations, and demonstrated skills in establishing productive relationships with stakeholders across various sectors.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of best practices in communications, social media platforms, and web/intranet management, with a sound knowledge of graphic design principles in a government setting.
