About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Delivery Suite team as a Clinical Midwife (Clinical Education), where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing specific support to the Midwife Unit Manager (MUM) in achieving quality patient care.
  • Undertake clinical education and facilitate learning opportunities for unit/ward staff.
  • Collaborate with other midwives, health professionals, women, their families, and other agencies to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Actively promote and work within a midwifery model of care, focusing on client-centred approaches that prioritize the individual needs and preferences of each patient.
  • Working in partnership with women, supporting them, their babies and their families and respecting, promoting, and supporting their right to self-determination in the normal life processes of pregnancy, labour, birth, and parenthood.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • The ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds and fostering positive health outcomes through strong interpersonal communication with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently, while demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
