  • Contracted role - Full time (1FTE) until 30 March 2025, reducing to 0.6FTE until 27 July 2025 

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Pharmacist Team Leader to join our dynamic Pharmacy Department. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team of pharmacists, technicians, assistants, and administrative staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional pharmacy services in your designated area. You will provide management, mentoring, and guidance to your team, driving the implementation of Medication Management directives, policies, and procedures. As the key liaison for clinicians and service units, your expertise will support optimal patient care while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

In this role, you will lead the development and evaluation of workplace policies, provide specialised training to enhance staff competence, and oversee performance reviews to ensure a high-performing team. Additionally, you will manage a specific portfolio that contributes to the pharmacy department's overall success, working closely with other team leaders and the Deputy Directors of Pharmacy. Upholding the standards of The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia, you will ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements while championing safe and cost-effective medication management. As a key leader in our Pharmacy Department, you will bring your extensive expertise and skills to inspire your team and enhance service delivery.

  • Exceptional Communication and Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, provide leadership and direction, and foster strong multidisciplinary team collaboration.
  • Strong Organisational and Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven capability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines with accuracy, and apply advanced problem-solving skills in a complex setting.
  • Extensive Experience in Hospital Pharmacy Practice: Significant background in hospital pharmacy practice, including leadership, supervision, and management within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge and Adaptability: In-depth understanding of pharmacy codes of practice and standards, coupled with the flexibility and resilience to navigate change and implement innovative strategies for improved service delivery.
