About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within Metropolitan Youth Health at Christies Beach for an Aboriginal Clinical Health Practitioner / or Aboriginal Health Worker, (ASO5) to join us, working full-time, ongoing.

The Aboriginal Clinical Health Practitioner / Aboriginal Health Worker –

  • Plans and delivers a high standard of specialised clinical health care services to Aboriginal young people and their families, within a youth health and multi-disciplinary context in primary care settings, including assertive outreach to respond to local community needs and responding to social and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people 
  • Works alongside a multi-disciplinary team to support and provide guidance to team members relating to culturally appropriate interventions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers
  • Contributes to the development of partnerships and collaborative initiatives within community groups, health professionals and organisations in the local area

We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provides important community-based services of which Metropolitan Youth Health is an integral part.

Metropolitan Youth Health provides free clinical health services (primarily for physical health issues) to young people aged 12-25, with a focus on under 18 years, in the Adelaide metropolitan-wide community.
