About the Role:

Are you seeking a rewarding career opportunity where you can make a significant impact on patient care and lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals? The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking Enrolled Nurses to join our team within the newly created Acute Surgical Unit (ASU).

Located on the second floor of the Lyell McEwin Hospital the ASU is closely located to the Operating Theatre Complex and will provide care for surgical patients presenting via a non-elective route. The role of the ASU is to provide a 24-hour 7 day a week assessment and management service for all emergency general surgery patients referred to the ASU. The ASU will also be responsible for acute assessment of surgical patients requiring a direct admission from any other health service including Modbury Hospital.

The ASU comprises of:

  • 21 inpatient beds
  • a quick access clinic, with the ability to see up to 8 patients per day
  • a see and treat consultation room consisting of 2 chair spaces

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will work alongside a talented team of healthcare professionals, collaborating closely with Registered Nurses, doctors and other allied health staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

In this role you will play a vital role in promoting a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring that patients and their families receive compassionate care and support throughout their healthcare journey.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. In order to administer medicines, must have completed a Board-approved program of study which includes an administration of medicines unit.
