  • In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).

Service:

Community Mental Health Team

The Community Mental Health Teams are located at both Port Augusta and Whyalla, providing specialised one-to-one counselling, group work, care coordination and health promotional activities to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social health and wellbeing. Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues. There are also specialist youth mental health clinicians based in the region and access to specialist older persons mental health services.

About the Role:

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for making a difference in rural and remote communities? We’re looking for a skilled Clinical Senior Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team within the Local Health Network (LHN) Mental Health (MH) service. In this rewarding role, you will provide expert clinical services and consultancy to support the recovery of mental health consumers, contributing to the improvement of quality, safe, and community-driven Mental Health services.

As a clinical leader, mentor, and supervisor, you will guide and support Mental Health Social Work professionals and students, while upholding the highest professional standards. You’ll play a key role in developing and promoting expertise within the discipline and have the opportunity to represent local teams and regions at committees and work groups. With a balanced focus of 70% clinical and leadership duties and 30% Social Work leadership and portfolio management, this is an exciting opportunity to influence and improve services across the Limestone Coast region.

About You:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work profession and be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). As a self-regulated profession, it is desirable to participate in the AASW Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accreditation program.
  • Post graduate qualifications in social work, psychotherapy, mental health, public sector management would be desirable.
  • Provide complex clinical and consultancy services using specialist expertise, including as a Rural Generalist or in a specific discipline.
  • Work independently with clinical competence and apply reflective practice skills.
  • Use detailed knowledge of the LHN’s strategy, operations, and service delivery to manage complex responsibilities.
  • Advise management on service development and practice redesign in response to demand and consumer needs.
