About Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

CAMHS is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.

About the role

Lead and manage CAMHS Acute Services (EMHS, RACER, CAVUCS), driving service improvements and clinical quality. Work closely with clinical leads, staff, and stakeholders to deliver integrated, client-centred care across infant, child, and adolescent mental health.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead service processes to meet emerging needs and care outcomes
  • Drive improvements in local practices in line with policies and standards
  • Coordinate expert assessment and integrated mental health care
  • Oversee recruitment, rosters, budgets and resource use
  • Contribute to SA Health and WCHN plans, framework and projects

Skills and Experience

  • Degree and registration in Nursing (Mental Health), Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology
  • Current professional registration with relevant board
  • Minimum 3+ years leadership/management experience
  • Proven clinical expertise in child and adolescent mental health
  • Strong HR, financial, and stakeholder management skills
